Minutes for March 30, 2011 Selectmen’s Meeting

Selectmen’s Meeting Agenda
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.
- Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes
Selectmen Meeting Minutes March 23, 2011.
Approved 3-0-2.
- Discussion held between 5:00 & 7:00 p.m.
At 5:00 the Board had John Myers in to present his portion of the Administration budget.
At 6:30 the Board met with Jan & Brent Hill along with Theresa Mattor, a landscape designer from Hollis. They presented a landscape plan proposal for the EMA building at Buxton Center.

Selectman Burns attended the SAD 6 Budget Meeting last Thursday. He said the Committee is preparing their final recommendation to make to the full School Board April 4th. The Selectmen will be at that meeting and they will then know what our obligation will be for our portion of that.
Selectman Burns also reported on the Selectmen’s Workshop last Friday when they went over the Police Department budget, and said he has been in the office several days this past week working on budgets.
Selectman Emery spoke about the Workshop and said the Board met with the Police Chief to go over the Police, Dispatch, and Animal Control budget.
Selectman Emery said the Selectmen put the curbside waste pick up out to bid, and he has been working with Greg Heffernan for the last few days on the bid packages that were mailed to all the companies who are interested and who bid on this last time.
Selectman Harmon talked about the Workshop. She said the Board talked about some changes they want to make to the Fire & Rescue, and Public Works budgets. Tomorrow night the Budget Committee will meet with Fire & Rescue to go over their budget. The Selectmen went over John’s portion of the Administration budget and made changes tonight so they can release that to the Committee. The only budget they have left to do is the Selectmen’s Administration
Selectman Emery said he is not opposed to sending the Public Works budget to the Committee so they can get it in front of the Committee. He said the Board can make changes they need to when they go in. Selectmen Harmon and Burns agreed.
Selectman Harmon said there are only one or two pieces left of their budget that need to be typed up and put together.
Selectman Emery said the Police budget is ready to go to the Committee as well.
Selectman Harmon said other than dealing with day-to-day issues and correspondence she has been working on the Warrant, and helping Selectman Burns with the budget.
The Selectmen will be in attendance at the SAD 6 School Board meeting on April 4th. That goes along with the meeting the Board had with the Facilities Committee in order to get answers or a vote from the School Board on questions the Selectmen have on the Hanson School.
The Selectmen discussed when they could meet to go over their budget and agreed they would be in the Town Office tomorrow.
